The Varsity soccer team had a very fun and amazing night last night defeating Sunnyslope by a score of 8-0. Eight different players scored and many assisted.

The scoring started early when senior Captain Michal Cagungun collected a pass from fellow senior Lainey Swanson and struck a nice shot to score the first goal.

The second goal was set up by Micah when she crossed a beautiful pass to Olivia Yu, who smashed home the second goal of the night.

The third goal was scored when many shots went off the post and crossbar and then fell down to Junior Ivy Schumann, who tucked away the third goal of the night.

The fourth goal was scored when Junior forward Francesca Diaz took a corner kick and served up a great assist for Junior forward Kyleigh Carr, who went airborne and headed the ball into the goal. It was a fantastic goal by Kyleigh.

The fifth and final goal of the first half came when freshman midfielder Lucy Panayi weaved through Sunnyslope defenders and found sophomore forward Dylan Cook, who struck an incredible shot to the upper 90 of the goal.

In the second half Lainey assisted again when she found senior Captain Ally Brown, who took the pass and delivered a shot low and to the corner for the 6th the goal of the night.

The 7th goal was a huge goal that really got the team excited when senior midfielder Quinn Osborne received a ball from Ally Brown and converted a beautiful shot past the Sunnyslope goalkeeper. It was a celebration to remember!

The final goal came when freshman Lucy Panayi collected a beautiful pass out of the air and set up Francesca Diaz, who blasted a shot into the net for the 8th goal of the night. Another awesome celebration!

This was a super fun night and everyone contributed on and off the field.

The Gators will close out the regular season next Friday night, which is senior night, against Millennium. We hope many fans will come out to support this amazing soccer team and our seniors for the final regular season game.
