The Varsity soccer team secured a hard-fought victory over Hamilton last night for a final score of 2-1. Senior forward Lainey Swanson played a pivotal role in the opening goal, assisting junior forward Kyleigh Carr. Carr expertly controlled the ball, made a precise turn, and fired a shot past the Hamilton goalkeeper, hitting the side netting for a beautiful finish.

In the second half, sophomore midfielder Sadie Becker made an impressive defensive play that set up the go-ahead goal. Junior forward Olivia Yu delivered a well-timed cross into the box, where Swanson was ready to strike. She made no mistake, hitting a one-time shot into the net, giving the Gators the lead for good.

Senior Captain Ally Brown and junior Nev Herzog were also key contributors, playing exceptional defense throughout the match.

The Gators dominated play the entire night, consistently putting pressure on the Huskies and creating numerous scoring opportunities. The Gators’ victory was a testament to their teamwork and determination.

Xavier travels to face the undefeated Boulder Creek Jaguars at 6:00pm this Wednesday.

Go Gators!
