3/27 UPDATE: Already the #2 top javelin thrower in Xavier Track & Field history, JR Alexa Zowine threw a 2-ft PR from 94-9 to 96-9, putting her just 10 ft. 7 in. away from the school record. This being her first year throwing the javelin, the school record doesn’t seem that far away.

Xavier Track & Field competed in two meets this past week: Notre Dame Prep 6-Team meet and the prestigious Chandler Rotary Invitational.
Eleanor Borchard, junior transfer from Oaks Christian, CA, updated her own 300 hurdles School Record, this time with a personal record. Eleanor had set the XCP 300H school record at 44.46 earlier this season, but she had run a 43.27 for her previous school in California. This weekend, she obliterated her PR and her XCP school record with a 42.64.
On top of that, Eleanor ran a smokin’ time of 55.8 as the anchor leg on the 4x400m relay team.
The 4×400 Relay Team of Bella Gomez, Marley Stoller, Mackenzie Lopez, and Eleanor put the All-Time 4×400 Xavier Top Four (3:56.76) and the school record (3:55.23) on notice with an outstanding time of 3:56.84.
Junior Marley Stoller has been flirting with the XCP All-Time Top Ten for the 200m for a few years now. This weekend, she ran a 3.2 second PR and crashed the 200m Top Ten party — now 2nd all time — with a time of 25.58.
SR Julia Russo ran such a fast 3200m race this weekend that she is now realistically eyeing the hallowed XCP Top Ten for that distance. The last distance runner to join this elusive club was Sarah Carter back in 2017.
The #10 spot for the 3200m is occupied by the daughter of assistant distance coach Vito Perrone. Breanne ran a time of 11:01.12 back in 2011. The top 9 are all below 11:00. Julia started this season with a PR of 11:31. This weekend, she ran 11:03.96.
