The Varsity soccer team beat Boulder Creek last night by a score of 7-0! It was an awesome night of great soccer and so much fun.

Senior Maddie Schenk got things started when she finished a beautiful shot off an assist from sophomore Olivia Yu. The next goal began in the defensive third when Junior Ally Brown stole the ball away from Boulder Creek and delivered a pass to senior Captain Lourdes Lauterborn who then sent a perfect past to an on-running Olivia Yu who sent home a great goal by blasting the ball into the back of the net. The third goal was a great pass from Junior Defender Izzy Lee to Lourdes Lauterborn who blasted a far post shot into the side netting for an amazing goal. The Gators would lead at halftime by the score of 3-0.

The second half the Gators kept their foot on the gas and kept scoring. Olivia Yu passed a ball across to Maddie Schenk who struck from way out and scored an incredible goal that found the upper 90 of the goal for the fourth score of the night and her second goal in the game. The fifth goal was another incredible shot by Ally Brown off and assist from senior Lucy Brink. Ally hit a laser of a shot past the Boulder Creek goalkeeper for the 5th score of the night. Olivia Yu assisted again for her third assist of the night on the sixth goal to Lourdes who also scored her second goal in the game and the 7th and final goal was scored when Ally Brown passed the ball to Izzy Lee who shot the ball high over the Boulder Creek goalkeeper’s head.

This was a total team effort and every single player got to play in the game. It was the best game so far of the season and it’s still early. The Gators return to action after the holidays and will face Mesa in their next game in January.
