Xavier Golf has 10-Stroke lead after Round One of State

The Xavier Gators carry a 10-stroke lead over 2nd place Pinnacle into Round 2 of Division 1 State tomorrow at the Aguila Golf course in Laveen Village (Southwest Phoenix).

The Gators sport four golfers in the top 8 in a field of 77.

Frosh Alexis Lamadrid and senior Lena Durette finished Day 1 at two over par, just one stroke back of the leader, Angela Chen, of Hamilton. They and Kaitlyn Moreland of Pinnacle are entangled in a 3-way tie for 2nd place on the Individual Leaderboard.

And just one stroke back of the 2nd place trio sits soph Isabella Piazza, senior Grace Rubelsky, and two others at (+3) in a four-way tie for 5th place.

The AIA Division 1 State Golf tournament picks back up at 9:00 tomorrow morning.
