The Xavier Cross Country team fought the Division 1 SW Sectional battle without their #1 and #2 runners today at Crossroads Park in Gilbert. But that didn’t seem to matter as Xavier came home with the trophy, winning by 29 points over second-place Shadow Ridge.

Most of the Xavier runners moved up throughout the race instead of starting out too fast and burning out later. Check out the table below:

  • Maggie was 20th after 3/4 of a mile, moved up to 10th by 1 1/2 miles, moved up to 7th by 2 1/4 miles, and finished in 7th.
  • Notice Annie steadily moving up at each marker until the finish.
